We recommend that you familiarize yourself with your Pinion bike and break in the gearbox before a long trip.


Except for a lockring tool (for mounting and dismounting the sprocket or spider of the gearbox) no special tools are needed.

All other screw connections on the gearbox are standard (metric) Allen-screws. A T30 Torx spanner is required to remove the gearbox from the frame.

We use standard shift cables.

If the Pinion bike is equipped with belt drive, it is recommended to pack a spare belt in the appropriate length. 


If the regular oil change on the gearbox is due during the trip, an original oil change kit is required.
