When it comes to comparing weight, we need to first look at what we are comparing. Midengine-

derailleur setups require a lot of maintenance and are prone to excessive wear and

tear. However, when taking all components and their weight into consideration, a fullpower

mid-motor with a traditional derailleur-style setup can be between 100-400g lighter.

Compared against motors of equal power with hub-style shifting systems, however, the

Pinion E-Drive System can save up to 1000g.
