The Pre.Select function shifts gears automatically, but only when you are not pedalling. It is based on the preset target cadence and your current speed.

For example, if you coast to a stop at a traffic light, the gearbox will automatically shift down gradually so that you are always within the preset cadence range when you start pedalling again.

Or if you gain speed without pedalling on a downhill section, the system automatically shifts into higher gears. This allows you to start pedalling at the correct cadence at any time in this situation as well.

When you stop, Pre.Select engages the preset Start.Select gear, unless this has already been reached while slowing down. The Pre.Select function will never shift below the preselected start gear!

For the Pinion MGU (E-line), you can adjust the target cadence and start gear in the menu under >Gearshift >Smart.Shift or in the FIT E-bike app.

If you have a mechanical gearbox from the Pinion Ci line, you will need the Pinion Smart.Shift app for these settings. Go to >Settings >Gearshift >Smart.Shift.
