In Auto.Shift mode, the MGU automatically shifts into the optimal gear to match your pre-defined cadence and the bike’s speed—even while pedaling. The desired cadence can be fine-tuned in 5-step increments using the two buttons on the control unit (e.g., Pinion TE1 E-Trigger or Remote E-Shift). Auto.Shift mode is indicated by the icon ‘A’ in place of the usual gear indication on the display. Changes to the pre-defined cadence are temporarily shown in the same spot.
Auto.Shift.Pro is designed for active, dynamic riding. Like Auto.Shift, it automatically shifts into the optimal gear based on your cadence and speed. However, in Auto.Shift.Pro, the control unit (e.g., TE1 E-Trigger or Remote E-Shift) is not used to adjust cadence, but to manually override the automatic shifting in any situation. When you manually shift in Auto.Shift.Pro mode, the system adapts to your new cadence and adjusts future shifts accordingly. Auto.Shift.Pro is indicated by the icon ‘A+’ on the display. You can pre-set your cadence in the menu, and the system will maintain that cadence until you manually shift gears. To return to the pre-set cadence while riding, long-press the rear lever of the Pinion TE1 E-Trigger for 2 seconds.
